Tristan McCowan is Professor of International Education at the Institute of Education, University College London. His work focuses on higher education in the international context, including issues of access, curriculum, alternative models and sustainability. His books include Higher Education for and beyond the Sustainable Development Goals (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019), Education as a Human Right (Bloomsbury, 2013) and Rethinking Citizenship Education (Continuum, 2009). From 2015-2021 he was editor of Compare – a Journal of International and Comparative Education, and from 2020-2024 led the multi-country research project Climate-U (Transforming Universities for a Changing Climate). Hislatest book, Universities and Climate Action, will be published by UCL press in 2025.

Prof. Mrs. Goski Alabi is a distinguished Professor of Total Quality Management, higher education governance expert and strategic leadership consultant with over two decades of experience in shaping education policy, quality assurance, and institutional leadership across Africa. She is the Founding Vice-Chancellor of Accra Metropolitan University (formerly Laweh Open University College), Ghana’s first accredited open university and currently serves as Chairperson of the African Network for Internationalization of Education (ANIE). She is also the Immediate Past President of the African Council for Distance Education (ACDE) and a key advisor to institutions such as the Association of African Universities and the African Union Commission. Prof. Goski Alabi has represented Ghana at the World Health Assembly on four occasions and served on ISO’s international technical committee on consumer policy (COPOLCO). She has led international accreditation audits, advised on EU, British Council, DFID and World Bank initiatives. She has pioneered reforms integrating digital transformation and quality assurance in African universities. As a founding member of the World Digital Education Alliance, she continues to champion open, inclusive and sustainable education systems across the continent.

Nii-K Plange is a Social Scientist by profession. He is currently Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies and Research at the Fiji National University. He was formerly a Senior United Nations official and served in Papua New Guinea and Geneva with work experience in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. His academic publications include, The Political Economy of the South Pacific ( et.al.1984 ), James Cook University, The Science of Society: Exploring the links between Science,Ideology and Theories of Develpment, Fiji Institute of Applied Studies,(1996 ) and Generation in Transition: Pacific Youth and the Crisis of change in the twenty- first century. Yvonne Nyokabi is a climate change specialist with over 12 years of experience driving impactful climate action across Kenya and Africa. She leads UNDP Kenya’s climate change portfolio, overseeing a multi donor program focused on climate finance, clean energy, governance and private sector engagement. As the national focal point for UNDP’s Climate Promise, she supports turning climate pledges into tangible results. Yvonne’s work bridges science, policy and finance, grounded in a strong technical background and deep experience in government and development sectors. She has played a key role in mobilizing climate finance, shaping policy and implementing inclusive multi sectoral projects ranging from energy, forestry, agriculture and waste management. Yvonne Nyokabi is a certified Renewable Energy Finance Expert with a Master’s in Public Policy, she also serves on the advisory board of Acclimatise, an innovative Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Course – enhancing African Climate Change and Sustainability Education, promoting climate literacy and leadership across the continent.

Tim Clarke is a Professor of Practice at the University of Cumbria’s Institute of Science and Environment, where he advises the Vice Chancellor on sustainability across academic programs and the university’s seven campuses. He is also an Honorary Fellow and Strategic Adviser to Lancaster University, supporting its Global Eco- Innovation Centre and regional integration initiatives. His work on an EU-funded Erasmus+ project led to the establishment of the EAC Academic and Research Network for Regional Integration (ECANRI) in Rwanda. He served as an Honorary Strategic Adviser to the Inter University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) and is a Founder and Board Member of GAIA Education Europe. A former EU Ambassador, Tim represented the EU in Ethiopia, Djibouti and Tanzania, as well as with the African Union, East African Community (EAC) and IGAD from 2004 to 2011. He managed cooperation programs exceeding €1 billion and led global initiatives in environmental policy, human rights, governance and democratic development. His current focus is on building Europe-Africa institutional partnerships and advancing SDG-related training and research in collaboration with civil society and grassroots organizations.
